Riding Unlimited's mission for the past 25 years has been to turn Disabilities Into Possibilities. We help individuals with physical, educational, intellectual and emotional disabilities through the power of the horse. Therapeutic horsemanship improves strength, balance, coordination, memory utilization, muscle tone, motor skills, social interaction and self esteem. Our facility is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, Int'l (PATH)(formerly NARHA) Premier Accredited center and our instructors are PATH certified. Riding Unlimited is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1990, we currently operate on our 49 acre facility in Ponder, TX.
Riding Unlimited is holding its semi annual training session on August 24th from 9am-1pm. At this training session we will teach volunteers how to groom and tack horses, how to act as a side walker, how to be a horse handler and give volunteers an overview of our facility and therapeutic riding. We have day, evening, and weekend classes that will need volunteers. Riding Unlimited will begin the Fall Class Session on August 26th.
Volunteers who would like to attend this training session can sign up by emailing Carrie Mahan at email@example.com. At the training session you will be asked to fill out our volunteer registration forms and review or volunteer manual which can both be found at www.ridingunlimited.org.
On the day of the Volunteer Training Session we ask volunteers to wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes that they do not mind getting dirty. We will provide drinks and snacks.
