On Thursday September 12th at 6 PM Lance Tahmahkera, the great-great grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker, will present a lecture on his great-great grandfather and Comanche history and traditions. Lance Tahmahkera will also share unique artifacts and photographs of the Comanche people.

The lecture will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the Courthouse-on-the-Square.

Lance Tahmahkera, born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, has been with Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth for the past 40 years and is currently, the Imaging Department Manager at TH Harris Methodist Outpatient Center – Burleson. As the great-great grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker, his family has stayed close to the Comanche traditions. As a child, he spent a lot of time at pow-wows and learning stories about ancestors and tribal ways. For the past 25 years, he has been asked to share those stories with various schools, groups and organizations.

All lectures and events are free and open to the public. This presentation will be fun for the whole family!
