Denton, Texas,  9/13/2019—Denton Toastmasters, invites residents to its open house to meet members and watch special guest speaker and Toastmaster,  Anna LeBaron, author of the book “The Polygamist’s Daughter” share her dramatic story, and talk about the importance of communication skills for today’s professional. LeBaron has been featured on the Dr. Oz show, and is available for bookings.

“Denton Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills in a warm and friendly environment,” says Club President Cheryl Spooner, for Denton Toastmasters.

After hearing from LeBaron, members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, Table Topics™ (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.

VP Membership Candy Bowens will be the Table Topics master. “Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says Bowens. “This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.” Bowen’s story was published in the new Tiffany Miller Harris book, “Testimonies Of Trials and Triumphs.” Bowens is following a public speaking path as well.

Other speakers include Suzanne Sweeney, our Area 52 Director; and brand new member Bill Worthington, a retired schoolteacher, who will be giving his first Icebreaker speech.
