Dallas developer Urban Logistics Realty is headed to Denton with an industrial park.
The 440,663-square-foot warehouse project will be on Interstate 35E and will include four buildings.
The Urban District 35 business park will be constructed next to the more than century-old site of Denton’s Acme Brick Co. plant.
“We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to play a small role in the evolution of this historical piece of industrial land,” Jason Nunley, co-managing partner of Urban Logistics Realty, said in a statement. “This has been a strategic location for over 100 years, and we are excited to see that tradition continue with the Urban District 35 project.”
Dallas’ Holt Lunsford Commercial will lease the buildings, which are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year.
“We are thrilled to bring this project to the market,” said Holt Lunsford’s Andrew Gilbert. “This will be an incredible development for the city on a historical land site.”
The Denton brick factory opened in 1901 and was purchased by Acme Brick in 1912.
The warehouses will be built between the freeway and the existing plant.
“The industrial market is evolving rapidly in the city of Denton, and this project will be the most urban and well-located project in the market,” Urban Logistics’ Adam Herrin said.
Urban Logistics Realty is working on industrial projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Houston, Austin and Phoenix.
