DFW storms bring strong winds, outages
One week after a powerful windstorm knocked out electricity to more than 320,000 customers in the Dallas area, another fast-moving front cut service to about 95,000 Sunday.
Gusts as high as 70 mph were recorded in Tarrant County along the Interstate 35 corridor from Fort Worth to Keller, National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Stalley said. A 66-mph gust was recorded at Fort Worth Alliance Airport, and DFW International Airport reported one that reached 49 mph.
There were unconfirmed reports that a tornado caused some of the damage in Tarrant County, Stalley said.
In Farmers Branch, where a tornado warning was issued, emergency crews were at the Villa Creek Apartments, where the roofs were ripped from two buildings. No one was injured.
Officials said they suspected a tornado was to blame for the damage, but no tornadoes have been confirmed.
There were three reports of injuries in Fort Worth. Two people were taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist — one in serious condition and one with minor injuries — after they were injured by a downed tree, according to MedStar.

Ex-pastor accused of sexually abusing teen
A former Southern Baptist pastor who supported legislation in Texas that would have criminalized abortions has been arrested on charges of child sex abuse, accused of repeatedly molesting a teenage relative over the course of two years.
Stephen Bratton is accused of subjecting the relative to inappropriate touching that escalated to “sexual intercourse multiple times a day or several times a week” from 2013 to 2015, according to Thomas Gilliland, a spokesman with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Court records show Bratton, 43, posted $50,000 bail Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Bratton told his wife about the abuse in May, and admitted to his co-pastors at Grace Family Baptist Church that same day that he had “sinned in grievous ways,” according to court documents.
It isn’t clear whether Bratton has an attorney who can comment on his behalf.
