A 50-year old Korean madam accused of running a string of Asian brothels on the West Coast and Dallas faces up to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday in a California federal court.

Jong “June” Ock Mao pleaded guilty to conspiring to use interstate commerce to promote prostitution and using the proceeds from her six brothels to purchase real estate. Authorities say she ran her brothels out of chiropractic offices, acupuncture clinics, “spas,” tanning salons and massage parlors mostly in Southern California.

In the spring of 2006, federal agents raided her Paradise Spa on North Industrial Boulevard in Dallas. She bought it in Dec. 2005 for $110,000, and had some of her workers relocate from Los Angeles brothels to staff it.

Federal authorities are also seizing $12 million in Ms. Mao’s property gained with brothel proceeds, including four private motocross tracks including one in Madisonville, Texas.
