Motopia: Diner meets motorcycle repair shop

01:56 PM CDT on Friday, August 1, 2008

Staff reports

If you've been looking for a place to sip cappuccino and grab a bite while getting the oil changed in your Ducati or BMW ($40 plus parts), we've found it. Owner Rene Larrave based Motopia on the stay-all-day coffee shops he enjoyed while living in Mexico City and London – and on his 20-year passion for motorcycles.

The chill vibe, with squishy leather couches, cable news on the plasmas and chain-link curtains keeping adjacent Central Expressway tamed, is very "CNN and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance."

Bonus: Coffee isn't the menu's only liquid option. Motopia also serves wine and beer.

Motopia, 4123 N. Central Expressway (near Fitzhugh), 214-443-8389, motopiacafe.com
